A major US natural foods retailer with 500+ locations needed to manage signage ordering and design requests across every store. Store managers were submitting requests by email and Excel. We built SODA -- the Signage Ordering and Design Application -- that gave every store a self-serve ordering portal and gave operations teams full visibility across the network.

The problem

Signage ordering for a 500+ location retail chain was entirely manual. Store managers submitted requests by email. Operations teams had no visibility into order status across the network. There was no standardized process for custom sign requests that fell outside the normal fulfillment catalog.

What we built

SODA -- a web application with two access tiers. Store managers log in through their store portal, search the item catalog, configure sign specifications, add items to cart, and place orders. They can view all order status for their store and download pre-approved sign files directly.

For custom requests that fall outside the catalog, a structured special request workflow allows stores to describe non-standard needs. Operations admins manage the item catalog, store access, user permissions, and network-wide order visibility.
